I Have Many Interests, But What Should Shawn Byrd Do?

Have you found yourself wondering what happens when you have a multitude of interests, yet try to define or describe yourself in a paragraph or two? When Shawn William Byrd had that issue, he decided on a solution that is tailored to him. There is the “About Me” page, which is one version. That was programmed accordingly; included is also a picture. Here is another “Author” page included in this blog. This one is set in the wordpress blog when making the account.

Strange how the same blog can give two slightly different stories about the same person. But what if I also have a Twitter account, another social network such as MySpace, or any number of resume or job-related sites? I found that your target demographic is the only one that matters. Job hunting? Use LinkedIn or another resume (About.me or Google+, for instance) to post something relevant to your needs.

Everybody is different, and so are one’s interests, hobbies, skills, and friends. One should most definitely avoid posting compromising pictures or posts. Tagged on Facebook in a not-so-flattering way? Delete, delete, delete. Manage your online presence (or at a minimum, the profile you use most often). Why not have many versions of yourself out there, I do. Shawn William Byrd is multi-talented, and wants to display it wherever is appropriate and to his advantage. You should, too.

Oh, and it is much easier when one’s life is self-directed, not pre-defined and structured based upon certain career or employer restrictions.

I Earned Money From Craigslist. Do I Need a 1099?

What happens when I sell things on Craigslist and I get cash for them? I know people who are not employees get a 1099 form, but what are people like me called? I got quotes for tax services off of Google, but they cost too much. Martin Luther Kind day heralds a closer time to the tax deadline, and my 2011 calendar is full of dates I kept when I used Craigslist. Sometimes, I use ebay, so how does that figure in? I have been told many things, and can’t make sense of it.

For tax purposes, a 1099 is used by independent contractors (think construction or service businesses). It is up to you to track all of your income, and the related expenses. A 2011 calendar (for last year) is a good way to do that. The IRS will need to see an ongoing record, and with as much time as it takes to fill your calendar, save emails, etc., that is a good record. Sometimes the Seattle craigslist is a good place to go if you have a request or want things cheap.

1099 Form and 2011 Calendar Both Have 4-Digit Numbers. . . Fiction

Craigslist has many, how shall we say “questionable”, ads in certain un-named categories. You can get quotes on things that you should not be looking for, especially when they are usually illegal. Why some people do that is beyond me. Anyway, we (our mountain headquarters staff members) found a 1099 form for sale. Looking at the 2011 calendar, and we notice that they are trying to scam the government. No way will we do this. Even with the hideaway as deep underground as it is (you’ve probably never even heard of it), the gov’t can get to anybody. Google it, and you will see the mental training side, not just the big guns stuff.

Our office in charge of the Seattle craigslist called, and someone was quoting Martin Luther King, and doing a very bad job at representing him. For shame, he seemed like a good activist, and 1099 form or not, we leapt into action. Got some hyper-jump refills from ebay, and off we went!

Should I Use Craigslist For Quotes?

If I want to sell something, I can use my local Craigslist and not have to include shipping in the price. Of course, not everybody is honest, and ebay may be an alternative. When listing things for sale last year, I had to check my 2011 calendar for holidays, like Martin Luther King day. People don’t usually order on days like that. Google for holidays, and you can keep current by adding them to your 2011 calendar. You could also look for quotes, and spice up your product listings. These new taglines might help you sell, and even land a gig where you sell so much, you need a 1099 form for taxes!

I don’t know if the Seattle Craigslist is the same as the craigslist listings elsewhere, but for local product quotes, either is helpful. When looking to buy items, you should comparison shop using google or ebay. You may get it cheaper if you order it and wait. On days that celebrate people like Martin Luther King, or presidents, or others, print a blank 1099 form and familiarize yourself with tax laws. Just don’t do it all day, everyone needs a break.
